When I am Old I Shall Wear Pink is a collection of poems and short stories in ebook form.
My mom was always deeply connected with nature, and taught her children this love from an early age. After she died, I walked with grief in memories and dreams. I found new understandings and even joy in memories and dreams of her in nature. These stories and poems came from those journeys.
Reviews for When I am Old, I Shall Wear Pink
"Emerging author Lila J. Bakke weaves together memory, magic, and the textured mysticism of nature into her warp and weft. Her words are as transcendent as they are human. The wondrous way she sees the world is both deeply touching and comforting."
--Danielle Blackwood, author of The Twelve Faces of the Goddess. Find her on her webiste: https://danielleblackwood.com, and at https://www.llewellyn.com/author.php?author_id=6903).
"This book of poems and short stories is amazing. Masterful with words, Bakke has a way of expressing thoughts on a page like no one else can. It's a must read." --A.k. Finch, author of the short story, "The Party," and of the book Fading Blue-Book of Haiku. Find them both on her website: https://akfinch.com/.
"Your stories and poetry are lovely and heartwarming. I particularly loved 'Alfalfa Flowers' since it reminded me of childhood on the farm with my brothers and sister. 'Mercy of the Trees' is compelling, dark, mysterious and chilling. Completely different from the melancholy and frustration in 'When I Grow Old I Shall Wear Pink.' I was captivated and taken by both." --Heather Ann Shannon, author of the short stories "Dark Moon" and "Fire at Will." Find her on her website: https://heatherannshannon.com. I created this collection as a result of a course with The Write Practice, and with the help of the instructors, facilitators, and fellow-students who read and commented on these stories and poems. Their generosity, instruction, and honest criticism were crucial in the production of this chapbook, and in my continuing development as a writer.

a clutch of eggs is a collection of poems originally written from 1990 through 2011. The subjects of these poems touch on love and loss, the beauty of nature, and thoughts and questions about life. It is my first book of poetry, published in 2016. It marks my coming out as a story-teller of the heart, after a career as a corporate communicator.
