a cup of coffee
the 10 of wands …
2 parrots on my shoulder,
grooming
a kitten to the left of my computer,
watching
my beloved,
sleeping
the world,
breaking

i should be glad my mother is not here to see this
spared from the disintegration of all she held dear
and yet
she would have been fearless
where I am full of fear,
and sorrow

outside the flowers bloom with no sense of tragedy
the trees, decimated, know

the fractures in our society only widen
