Hi.

Welcome to my website. I’m a poet and artist, seeking wisdom and telling stories along the way. Hope you enjoy your stay!

spider in green and peony pinks

spider in green and peony pinks

a mother perhaps …

in brilliant verdant against shades of pink
blurred by my camera

narrowly out of the path of the sun
hanging low to the ground
rain drops and morning dew hang
off the strands of your web
shimmering,
arresting, enticing

you
are upside down
your lemon and emerald splashed abdomen
points to the ground while
a single black “eye”,
outlined in gold,
presents itself upward while
black stripes emanate downward
toward the iridescent ivory cap

like vines, or stems they
arch gracefully as your ghostly translucent
legs, reminiscent of those lines of juice
frozen in long clear plastic tubes, treats
of childhood and years gone by,
if they were mint green.
darkened at the joints, and tufted by sensorites
(unseen until magnified)
they mimicking tall grasses, oats,
and other such stalks and stems …

terminating under your thorax
eight stalks end below eight eyes watching
somewhere above a face masked in bejeweled
alien
deflection
(or below …
it is hard to say … )

such clever camouflage deadly beguiling!

but then, a mother has to eat!
