Sea Turtle, Part VI

VI

What dazzling brilliance!

As I looked, the universe appeared in
miniature before us. And
I saw her in a cloud of colored gasses
somewhere beyond any
constellation I recognized.
She swam to me in a trail of stars,
sweeping down to me, pausing,
and then, through me,
and then, up again, into the sky,
circling again she waited until
I smiled, nodding my head, and then,
and then,
she swam off into the colors.
Her shadow lingered as the stars
blinked out
and the universe faded away.

Her warmth remained.

I thought the Vision gone, but
when I looked down at myself,
I was translucent, and inside me
were stars!
They were the same color!
They were the same number!!
And they were dancing.

My senses existed outside me then.
I became the ocean,
the sky
the moon
the sun
and the stars, all at once.

I looked and saw. I saw from
the eyes of the fish, the eyes of the
eel, the eyes of the
octopus, the eyes of the
Kraken.

I touched and felt. I felt from the
blades of seagrass, from the
coral of the reef, from the
bladders in the kelp, from the
sea flowers, their roots deep
in the seabed, and from the
dirt in the ground.

I listened and heard. I heard from
tree branches, and from
swallows and from
land grass, and from
the bees who played from above
with the waterbugs who bid me
LOOK.

And I looked and saw the universe
expanding and begetting
galaxies and again I looked
and saw
the squid's eye, and of
mine into hers
and hers into mine ...

And I saw a coming dimness, and it
startled me out of the Vision.
